I totally liked this book though it feels a lil unfinished because the author of the book died before finishing the story, yet still I good story

I’ve never really known who earwig was since her mum Only left a noté from her Only saying earwigs name and i think about 13 witches were after her. This book is quite similar to the worst witch books Only because it has things about witches and spells. Except that this story is about how a witch adopted a girl called earwig and that witch is Very cruel to her. You’ll have to read the story to find out more! I Rated this 4 out of 5.

Earwig and Custard are friends who met at an orphanage. It was a day where they all line up and see what child the new parents want to take home. This lady with blue hair, purple lipstick and different colour eyes came in with a man who had square face but instead of pointed corners, he had curved corners who was dressed all in black with horns on his head. Earwig never wanted to leave the orphanage so she always tried to pull a face to put them off. But this couple thought the face was perfect so they decided to take her. Earwig wasn’t happy at all with this and pleaded not to go but they didn’t care.
Earwig and her new family went to her new home which was a bungalow. At first it looked like a normal house but the more she looked around it wasn’t normal at all!
Then Earwig found out that her new parents weren’t normal either! The lady was a witch named Bella Yaga and the man was called Mandrake who put daemons in the garden so she couldn’t escape. She also found out that all the witch wanted was for Earwig to be her slave. The witch would feed Earwig worms but the cat could talk so he told Earwig how to make a potion to make the witch stop feeding her worms.
Bella Yaga kept ssaying ‘I need an extra pair of hands – that’s why you’re there!’ after she promised to teach Earwig some magic. So Earwig researched and found a potion for an extra pair of hands but while making the potion she got mixed up and had a hand on her head and on in her mouth!
Do the family ever get along or not?
My favourite part was when Earwig couldn’t see where she was putting her hand and put one on her forehead and one in her mouth!
Earwig was my favourite character because she’s a bit like me. She knows how to get her way around things.
What age group? 6-9
Girl or boy? Probably more towards girls but some boys would enjoy it.
