Amy Wild #1: Amazon Summer

Wild by name. Wild about nature. Deadly 60 with bigger spiders and better hair. Who said exploring in the jungle is all about grizzly beards and massive backpacks? Amy Wild proves that getting close to nature needn’t mean looking like something the cat dragged in. With a name like ‘wild’ (and the spirit to match), this girl needs BIG adventures. Heading to Iquitos, Peru with her aunt seems just the thing. So how does Amy end up alone in the Amazon rainforest: a place of hungry jaguars and poisonous plants? She’s got no clothes, food or money. Can she stay alive? Let’s hope those legends of evil spirits aren’t true…

I really liked this book because it is based on Helen’s own adventure in the Amazon which gives it that extra bit of sparkle! I know Helen Skelton isn’t a proper author but this book was really well-written and I couldn’t put it down!
