Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Toffee trees and chocolate rivers. Magic is on the menu in Roald Dahl’s tastiest book! Charlie Bucket loves chocolate. Who doesn’t? Trouble is, his family are so poor that all they can afford to eat is cabbage soup. Yuck. But one day Charlie wins a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory: a vast paradise of lip-smacking flavours and weirdly wonderful inventions. Here, amid the cocoa forests and bubbling vats of sweeties, an astonishing surprise is waiting for Charlie…

  • A dream ticket into a world where fantasies come alive
  • Flamboyant, darkly funny and boundlessly imaginative
  • “The ultimate children’s story ever.” David Walliams

I love this book because its funny. My favourite part is when Willy Wonka presses the up and out button and the elevator whizzes through the roof, then Charlie says “How does the elevator stay up here?” and Willy Wonka replies “sky hooks!”. I really want to read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator next.

Charlie and the chocolate factory is a very old book by Roald Dahl. I love how all the sweet treats are described in the book like so detailed.
