   Street Child is a really good book! I love the detail it goes into when describing the workhouse. We read it at school when learning about the Victorians.

   This book is really emotional and touching. It is about a young boy who is very poor and one day comes home to find his mother is dead. Sorry for the spoiler, though there is much more to the book:)
