Eleven

Sam is almost eleven when he discovers a locked box in his grandfather’s attic, along with a piece of paper that says he was kidnapped. There are lots of other words, but Sam has always had trouble reading. What is his beloved Mack isn’t really his grandfather at all? At night, Sam is haunted by dreams of a castle and a terrifying escape on a boat. Who can he trust to help him read the documents that could unravel the mystery? Then he and a new girl, Caroline, pair up to work on a school project, building a castle in Mack’s woodworking shop. Caroline loves to read – but they are racing against time. Can she help Sam to solve the mystery of who he really is?
